TACTILE IMPRESSION

Recently we shared some information about the Datacard SD460 Card Printer, Encoder, Laminator. One of its hallmark features is its ability to produce cards with unique tactile impressions. The use of tactile impressions in the ID security card industry is brand new--and extremely useful. A tactile impression is an imprint that is clearly visible, which means ID cards offer more visual verification than a simple picture and a name. A unique image is impressed into the card substrate and overlay while the card is being produced. The image produced can be both seen and felt. In addition to this, a tactile impression is impossible to remove without destroying the overlay offering yet another layer of security against counterfeiting and tampering. The design of your tactile impression can be as simple or as complex as you like. It can be designed to reflect your company image while imparting the additional security for which is was designed. Tactile impressions can be used in conjunction with other security features, such as a magnetic strip, a smart chip and various overlays.
