New Entrust Cloud Capabilities Simplify SSL Certificate Management

Automated Tools Also Designed To Detect, Report And Prevent Costly Security Mishaps

MINNEAPOLIS—(DEC. 1, 2015)—Entrust Datacard today announced that it has introduced several key enhancements to its cloud-based SSL certificate management platform, Entrust Cloud. The new capabilities will bring increased simplicity and control to every step of the digital certificate management process, from acquisition, configuration and installation of certificates to server analysis, compliance monitoring and security scans.

The features, which make it easy for customers to purchase, configure, install, track and renew SSL certificates, make Entrust Cloud the most streamlined platform in industry.

“We greatly expanded the capabilities of Entrust Cloud to make life easier for our customers and to protect them from the financial impact of expired, rogue or improperly installed certificates,” said Russell St. John, senior vice president of global marketing for Entrust Datacard. “Certificate-related problems can cost businesses hundreds of thousands of dollars a year due to breaches and other types of fraud, as well as lost revenue from potential customers simply abandoning sites they felt were not secure.”

Highlights of the new capabilities include:

Entrust® Turbo™ Auto-Install Client. A simplified method for installing SSL certificates and configuring servers on Microsoft Windows platforms. Automatically installing certificates directly to servers speeds deployment and greatly minimizes opportunities for configuration errors.

Automated SSL Server Test. Periodic testing of servers for configuration compliance protects against Heartbleed, Poodle and other similar threats. A new automated testing feature provides deep analysis of web servers, identifies potential vulnerabilities and checks compliance levels. Email notifications and screen prompts provide automatic notification of potential problems.

Reporting Engine. Consolidated data for both Entrust-issued and discovered certificates is delivered via standard or customized reports — or displayed on a management dashboard. New widgets allow users to configure the dashboard for customized views and drill-downs.

Automated Alerts. Customers can choose to receive email alerts or dashboard prompts when the management platform automatically detects potential problems with certificate policy, best practices, compliance or other key considerations.

Site Analysis and Reporting. Customers can continually scan all of the websites associated with their SSL certificates and determine security levels for each one. This new feature also provides reports on certificate locations, certificate and server configurations, number and types of certificates for each site, malware configurations and more.

Certificate Pickup Wizard. An intuitive new process speeds certificate installation by delivering server-specific instructions and file bundles. Certificate information, tracking numbers, server types and associated certificate chains are all displayed.

“Our customers realize true network security requires more than just the simple installation of SSL certificates,” St. John said. “They have asked for new capabilities that allow them to better configure, scan, track and renew SSL certificates. These new Entrust Cloud features offer all of those capabilities and more.”

CHALLENGE: A Minnesota casino wanted to replace their player’s club reward card printers. The company’s existing printers required employees to change the card stock type each time a new rewards-level card needed to be printed. Additionally, the printers were aging and continually breaking down, and the casino wanted to streamline its card issuance process and not be tied to using custom printer software.
SOLUTION: The casino called on an Entrust Datacard partner to aid in their search for a new card printing solution. Together they determined that the Datacard® CD800™ card printer would be the best fit for the casino’s needs.
RESULTS: The casino now can issue a variety of card types without having to insert the appropriate card stock for each card printed and they do not need to rely on custom software to print their rewards cards.

NEW PRINTER CHOSEN TO UPDATE SYSTEM AND STREAMLINE PROCESS
With over 150,000 players club cards issued annually, the Minnesota-based casino wanted to move to a card issuance system that was easy-to-use, quick-to-print and highly dependable. Above and beyond a new, more reliable printer, the casino wanted a printer that would easily integrate into current workflows and player’s club software platform – they did not want to be reliant on custom software or lengthy, complicated network integrations. Entrust Datacard and its partner were called to provide an updated players club card issuance system for the casino utilizing the Datacard® CD800 card printer with the addition of a multihopper and Open Card Format printing ability. They will also be providing the casino with a variety of Datacard® Certified Supplies that will keep the printer running optimally.

OPEN CARD FORMAT ALLOWS FOR EASY NETWORK INTEGRATION
The casino’s previous printers required the use of custom software to print the players club cards. When looking for a replacement solution, it was important that the new printer did not require custom software and that it was able to integrate into the current players club software. Open Card Format is the standard data structure used to send information to Datacard printers and to place information in the desired location on a card. Open Card Format allows users to easily integrate the printers into their current system and workflow. Entrust Datacard and its partner worked with the technology team at the casino to create XML code which allowed the Open Card Format to integrate and eliminated the need for custom software.

ENHANCED PRODUCTIVITY
The Datacard CD800 card printer offers an optional multi-hopper solution - with the addition of the multi-hopper, casino employees pre-load the printer with six different card types, which thereby eliminates the need for employees to manually select and insert the appropriate card stock each time a player’s club card was printed. The ability to have the various card types accessible to the printer and not needing the employee to manually insert the cards into the printer each time a card is printed will save employees time when processing players club cards and help to reduce casino guest wait times.

On November 30th, HID Global announces the availability of its ActivID® Credential Management System (CMS) 4.3. ActivID Credential Management System (CMS) 4.3 is the latest offering that simplifies the process for securely managing smart card and smart USB token deployments. An integral component of HID Global’s smart card solution portfolio, ActivID CMS is the only offering in the industry that makes it possible for organizations to create, manage and use a single PKI smart card for both logical and physical access – using a unified solution from a single vendor.

The ActivID CMS 4.3 offering includes

• Simplified CIV, PIV, and PIV-I deployment. Enterprise customers can now issue Commercial Identity Verification (CIV) compliant smart cards out-of-the-box with ActivID CMS. CIV cards are designed for the commercial market and follow the same FIPS 201 standard as Personal Identity Verification (PIV) and PIV-I cards issued to US federal employees and contractors, but for the commercial market. Once issued, CIV cards work with a large number of systems and applications are interoperable with the PIV standard.
• PACS integration with pivCLASS® IDPublisher and MultiPACS. Customers can now issue PIV, PIV-I and CIV cards with ActivID CMS and automatically push credential information to their physical access control system (PACS), enabling users to use their card to authenticate at the door without the need to re-enroll their card again. PACS access is also deactivated when the card is reported lost or stolen or terminated in ActivID CMS.
• Support for FARGO® printers. Using Asure ID® card personalization software, HID Global is offers the only one-stop shop for complete smart card personalization and printing.
• Enhanced Certificate Authority (CA) support. ActivID CMS supports an extended range of Certificate Authorities for issuing PKI certificates on smart cards, including new CAs such as Opentrust™ Enterprise PKI, Symantec™ Managed PKI v8 and Verizon™ UniCERT® with UPI. 
• Inclusion of new workflows in the ActivID CMS User and Operator Portals. The latest enhancements to ActivID CMS provide more flexibility to work with mobile devices and enable organizations to comply with their security policies.
• Support for the latest environments. ActivID CMS 4.3 supports the latest technologies, such as Microsoft® Windows® 10, Oracle® 12c and smart cards compliant with the GlobalPlatform™ Secure Channel Protocol 3.

ActivID CMS 4.3 is available at no charge to ActivID CMS customers with a current maintenance contract. It can be electronically downloaded from HID Global’s Identity Assurance Support Portal.

Current ActivID CMS 4.2 customers
HID Global recommends customers using ActivID CMS 4.2 to upgrade to version 4.3. Version 4.2 is no longer available to new customers but remains supported for two years until October 2017.

ActivID CMS 4.3 is only available on Windows and is no longer available on Solaris. ActivID CMS 4.2 for Solaris is the last Solaris version and remains supported for two years until October 2017.

Entrust Datacard is pleased to announce the new, 600 dpi Datacard® SR300e Retransfer Card Printer. The new 600 dpi print resolution enables you to print stunning, full-color photos and graphics with extreme fine line detail for printing items such as micro-text and bar codes.

Overview
Retransfer printing produces consistent, high-quality, over-the-edge printing to create cards that stand out from the crowd. In addition, retransfer printing is ideal for printing on uneven surfaces of smart cards with embedded chips, and enables printing across a wide range of card materials beyond PVC.
Entrust Datacard has continued to invest in retransfer printing with the enhancements to the Datacard® SR200 Retransfer Card Printer and Datacard® SR300 Retransfer Card Printer over the past 18 months. The addition of the Datacard® SR300e Retransfer Card Printer is just the latest of our product enhancements to meet your needs.

Product Specifications
The new Datacard® SR300e Retransfer Card Printer has similar product specifications as the Datacard® SR300 Retransfer Card Printer. It is also compatible with the LM300 Lamination Module.
